First Friday / Sacred Heart of Jesus

First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart derives from the revelations made by Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690). The practice of receiving Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays is in reparation to "the Heart that has loved men so and is loved so little in return." Among the graces Christ is said to have promised those who are faithful to this devotion is final perseverance in the Catholic Faith, reception of the last sacraments and death in the state of grace, and the consolation of the love of Christ's Sacred Heart at the time of death.
Every First Friday of the month at our parish, a special Mass of the Sacred Heart with the anointing of the sick is celebrated, starting with public adoration. Confessions are available from 6:15 to 6:45 pm,  with the Mass at 7:00 pm.

The Anointing of the Sick is at 7:30 pm.

Prayer shawls are blessed after Mass.

Individual prayer teams are available to pray for special needs.

The Sacrament of Confession is available one hour before Mass in the Sanctuary.

Parish families are encouraged to have the traditional enthronement and consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A picture and certificate suitable for framing are available. The Pastor is also available to come to the home of parishioners for the Enthronement.

Please call the pastor at the office to make an appointment.
